DISCLAIMER:

All information on this site has been obtained from prior sites, public archives or other sources considered reliable.

Where anything is not exactly certain, I have noted as same.

Should any detail be incorrect, then (1) no offence is intended, and (2) I would be greatful if someone advises me of such so that I can either correct the detail or remove it.

PRIVACY:

This page seeks to provide MY interpretation on Privacy with respect to personal information / detail, and how it might relate to anyone listed herein.  Other sites which offer advice on Genealogical matters offer suggestions / recommendations on what should or should not be made publicly available.

In my professional career, I am involved with maintenance and access control to personal details, as well as interpretation of legislation of it pertains to the Australian environment.  This may or may not be consistent with legislation in other countries.

In general, I continue to encounter a 75-year rule.  Essentially, this means certain information is not made generally available until 75 years have elapsed since the date of the event.

For the purposes of this site:

v     Any detail dated prior to 1930, I consider to be in the public domain, and hence publishable.

v     Any detail I obtained from the prior websites (that is, from Jean van Waterschoot & Harry Waterschoot), I have considered as readily available and hence, publicly available – it was after all posted to the “web” in the years 1995-2002, by others. (I hold copies of these documents should anyone wish to enquire.)

v     Detail since 1930, and not from the prior websites, has either been obtained from public records, or from family members.  Where this is from family member/s, I have assumed it is on the basis that it may be published, and that they have authority to also “speak” on behalf of their children, etc.

Do You Wish to Be “Hidden”?

I have not been able to confirm with all “living” members whether they are happy that their detail is available here or not.

Should I have information on an individual and that individual wishes it to be suppressed and / or removed, then I consider the responsibility lies with that individual advising myself of their requirement.  Follow the “Contact Me” link from the left-hand side menu.

NOTE: If an individual requests suppression, yet that detail is generally available, I am happy to discuss further ... but consider suppression to be somewhat pointless. That said, if the information proves to be less than readily available, I will quite happily suppress what I have here.

BUT
… YOU NEED TO LET ME KNOW
… I CANNOT DETERMINE THIS WITHOUT YOUR INPUT.
